In Yorkshire we know how to eat well and your active cycling holiday will set you up with an appetite and justification for some great food.
Refreshment along the way
We will tell you along your route where you can find good places to stop and refresh, whether it is for a cup of coffee and homemade cake or a refreshing pint in the garden. We may also highlight farm shops you will pass where you can stock up on tasty treats.
When it comes to mealtimes we can point you to traditional pub fare or haute cuisine. Several restaurants across Yorkshire have Michelin stars but you also need to sample our Roast Beef and Yorkshire pudding to know the real Yorkshire.
In arranging your accommodation we are careful to ensure you can find good food without getting back on your bike in the evening and we pay particular attention to the hospitality you will get with it. Breakfast at your accommodation will be cooked with the finest local ingredients and of course we ensure all our hosts can cater for all your dietary requirements.
Meals as an experience in themselves
We have local institutions such as Betty's where you can enjoy afternoon tea or an evening meal listening to the pianist, as well as newer additions with instantly great reputations set up by well known chefs. We have the names you will recognise as well as those with much more local reputations.
Something to take back with you
Yorkshire also has some fine breweries and micro-breweries are developing fast in this area. We also have a couple of English vineyards to enjoy the fruits of! And you can't leave York without some chocolate. Home of Rowntrees and Terrys (Kit Kat and Terry's Chocolate Orange) the city is now a centre for wonderful boutique chocolatiers.
