We will always do our best to ensure that your accommodation is in accordance with our advertising & your booking requirements. In some locations accommodation is limited & it may be necessary to change some of the details from those advertised or requested. We will notify you of any such alterations as soon as we can, offering alternative arrangements of at least equivalent standard.

Customer Satisfaction

We aim to ensure you have an enjoyable holiday & we welcome feedback (positive or negative) on all aspects of our holidays so that we can continue to improve them. If you have any problems or are unhappy in any way with any aspect of the holiday please call us at the earliest opportunity so that action can be taken to remedy the problem. Any complaint made to Scoot Cycling Holidays after your holiday should be made in writing within 28 days of your return home.

Temperature & Weather

We have arranged these holidays for when the British weather is favourable, but do not forget this is the UK so it is better to bring a waterproof jacket and an extra layer of warmth.

Method of Payment

Our preferred method of taking payment is bank transfer through internet banking.  Please let us know if this is not convenient and we can send you a payment request through Paypal which will enable you to pay by credit or debit card.  Due to the high charges that Paypal levies we find it necessary to make a surcharge of 4% on holidays paid for through this method.  This will be added to the Paypal invoice.

Force Majeure

Except where otherwise stated in these booking conditions, we regret we cannot accept liability or pay any compensation where the performance of our contractual obligations is prevented or affected by “force majeure”. For the purposes of these booking conditions, “force majeure” means any event which we, our employees, agents or suppliers of the services(s) in question could not, even with all due care, foresee or avoid. Such events may include war, riot, civil strife, terrorist activity, industrial dispute, natural or nuclear disaster, adverse weather conditions, fire and all similar events outside of our control.

Privacy Policy

We do not store any credit or debit card information given to us by our customers and do not share any personal information with any third parties.

SCOOT Cycling Code

At Scoot we believe that everyone should make the most of Yorkshire's fabulous outdoors as often as possible, whether it’s cycling, riding, walking or running. There are many occasions when we will share space with others. This guide will help us ensure that we all explore safely and courteously.

  • Please cycle with consideration for other users at all times, whether they are pedestrians, cyclists, horse riders or drivers. Give way to pedestrians and always acknowledge those who give way to you.
  • Cycle only within your capabilities and match your speed to the surface and your skills
  • Let somebody know your route in advance and when you expect to be back
  • Try to get to the start and finish of your cycle ride by public transport

Many traffic free routes are used.  Some may be part of the National Cycle Network or possibly a disused railway line. Remember that they are suitable not only for cyclists, but walkers, horse riders and wheelchair users – please show respect for others and follow a few simple guidelines.  That way everyone gets the benefit.

  • Keep to your side of any dividing line
  • Do not cycle at high speed, you must be prepared to slow down or even stop suddenly
  • Be cautious when you approach junctions and bends
  • Be aware that many people are hard of hearing or visually impaired, they may not know you are there
  • Use your bell to alert people that you are there
  • Always give way to wheelchair users and horse riders

  • Follow the Country Code
  • Take your litter home
  • Respect farming, forestry and other land management activities
  • Keep erosion at bay by limiting the impact of off road cycling
  • In remote areas carry some food, water, repair kit, waterproofs, map and mobile phone

Our planned routes use minor roads through towns

  • Follow the highway code
  • Make sure you are visible – especially at junctions where most accidents happen
  • Keep lights on in poor visibility or darkness
  • Wear a helmet and colourful clothing
  • Make sure your bike is roadworthy
  • Do not cycle on pavements – unless specifically designated and keep to your side of a shared path
  • Alert pedestrians with your bell
