OWT FOR NOWT?
Ever known anyone do owt for nowt?
Well as we all know the past 20 years have been quite selfish ones on the whole, I know I go on about it, but lets take bankers bonus's for instance, most of us, despite working hard, and often in jobs we do not enjoy (I like mine though), will never reach the earning power some of the investment bankers receive in yearly bonus's. Another overpaid minority and a topical one at the moment, footballers. Don't get me wrong, I actually enjoy watching football and will be cheering England on, shouting at the telly and trying to chip the ball into the net, from the comfort of my sofa! However I do think the topflight are overpaid for what they do. Politicians, councillors and the like often seem to produce little and get paid a lot.
Now I personally do not care how much individuals earn but sometimes its nice to do summat for nowt! It's good to put "something back", so here's the plug.........why not set aside a bit of time, a small amount of cash and join the "Children in Distress Solar System Charity Cycle Ride on the 19th June starts at Knavesmire - York Racecourse - starts at 10.30 am and ends in Selby. All ages from grannies to grandchildren are welcome and you can take as much time as you like ........it is definately not a race! Even bankers, footballers, and politicians can join in we are really not fussy.
SCOOT will have registration forms on our stand as it is the York Cycle Rally that weekend too so if you just feel like coming along at the last minute do not hesitate, you can support this great charity, get a bit fitter, enjoy the great Yorkshire countryside and feel really, really smug that you have done your bit......let it be said that you are happy to do owt for nowt!
